Yame City also prides itself in preserving the tradition of craft making. At Yame Dento Kogeikan, you can find traditional paper making, which has been present in Japanese culture for 400 years. After you make your own paper, you can create your own fan or postcards. Many NILS students have visited this museum and enjoyed the experience of creating their own crafts. The fee is reasonable ranging from 300 to 800 yen and takes only 30 minutes to complete. To get there, it takes 30 minutes to Kurume on Nishitetsu Railways, and an additional 40 minutes by bus. The train and bus cost 1,120 yen one way.
