What to see in Fukuoka

Hello, I am Yoshi from NILS Japanese language school. We will welcome many students who want to learn Japanese language this summer. They will come to Japan not only to learn the language, but also to enjoy Japan. I would like to introduce some exciting spots to you today.

[Yatai 屋台]
Yatais or street food stalls are a specialty of Fukuoka. They attract people with a veriety food: ramen, oden, yakitori, tempura, gyoza, etc. It is said there are about 190 yatais in Nakasu and Tenjin.

[Hakataza Theater 博多座]
Exclusively designed for theatrical performances, Hakataza Theater is a bearer of Fukuoka’s drama culture. Its stage features kabuki plas, musicals, the Takarazuka Revue and a variety of other dramatic performances.

[Yusentei Garden 友泉亭]
Yusentei Garden was built by Tsugustaka Kuroda. This villa features an admirable Japanesegarden designed around a pond that changes coler and mood with each season. A tea ceremony room is available and we sometimes go there for NILS activity in the short term program.
