NILS Activity: 七夕会(2)

Hello, I am Yoshi from NILS Japanese language school. I would like to introduce comments from Chinese students on Tanabata Festival we had yesterday.
“I had never experienced this traditional Star Festival in China before. Considering it’s the first time we came to Japan, it has been an unforgettable experience to all of us.
When we experienced the calligraphy, we regretted that we lost this traditional culture which originally belongs to China. We were really passionate and enthusiastic about what the teacher taught us.
Yukata is a very beautiful cloth. At the first glance, it looked like a normal piece of cloth, but after wearing it, we all agreed that it is was very cute. Maybe that is the reason why Japanese people love Kimono. They usually wear it at important places and times, though. Japanese tea ceremony was also a pretty good experience.
I really had fun today and I am looking forward to the next event.” —Mei Ligun-san, from China

“Today we had the Star Festival. At school we had the chance to experience a traditional and cultural event. First we experienced the calligraphy class I had already taken in China in the past but even with it, I can still say it’s very difficult to write well. After that, we all enjoyed a Japanese Tea Ceremony class which was kind of difficult, but it was really fresh. I also wore Yukata for the first time in my life. It made me look very cool!
Thanks to teachers, I had such a delightful day today.
This wonderful event will be forever engraved into my memory.” —Wu Peng, from China
