Hello, I am Yoshi from NILS Japanese language school. The rainy season was over and we have a very hot day every day in Japan. Furin 風鈴(ふうりん) may help you relieve from the summer heat.
Furin are small wind bells, made of metal, glass, bamboo or pottery. They are traditionally hunb under the eaves of a house during the summer. The bell usually has a little slip of paper underneath on which a short wish or poem is written. The paper also helps to catch the breeze. When we hear the jingling sound of the bell, we realize a breeze is blowing, and that gives us a moment of relief from the sever summer heat.
