Chrysanthemum Day

Hello, I am Yoshi from NILS Japanese language school. Today, we would like to introduce one one of the Japanese holidays on September 9th. It is not actually a national holiday, though.
There are five ancient sacred festivals in Japan. September 9th is the Chrysanthemum Day, and it is one of the five. It started in 910 when the Japanese imperial court held its first chrysanthemum show. The Chrysanthemum was appointed the national flower of Japan, and it is still the symbol of the Japanese imperial family.
