Hello, I am Yoshi from NILS Japanese language school.
Respect-for-the-Aged Day is the third Monday of September (Sept. 17 this year). it is the day to wish for elderly people’s longevity and show respect and appreciation for their contribution to society. People usually visit their parents or grandparents on that day if they ar not living together. Kindergarten children often visit special home for the aged. There are also many events held by local governments where respect-for-the-aged associations entertain people and give them souvernirs.
