Today, you will learn kotowaza ことわざ or proverbs.

1. 郷に入りては郷に従え (ごうにいりてはごうにしたがえ)
When you are at Rome, do as they do at Rome.

2. 情けは人のためならず (なさけはひとのためならず)
One good turn devserves another.

3. 水に流す (みずにながす)
Forgive and forget.

4. 百聞は一見に如かず (ひゃくぶんはいっけんにしかず)
Seeing is believing.

5. 三度目の正直 (さんどめのしょうじき)
The third time pays for all.

6. 果報は寝て待て (かほうはねてまて)
Everything comes to him who waits.

7. 残り物に福がある (のこりものにふくがある)
Sometimes the lees are better that the wine.

8. 十人十色 (じゅうにんといろ)
So many men so many minds.
