田植え -Rice Planting-

Hello, I am Yoshi from NILS Japanese language school.
Today, some of our new students had a good experience of rice planting with the sixth graders from Mihara Elementary School.
Taue (田植え/Rice planting) is an activity held from May to June of transplanting rice seeding from nursery to rice paddy. Planting rice seeds is at its peak around the 88th night corresponding to the 88th day counting from the first day of spring, and the transplanting to rice paddies follows the beginning of the rainy season.
This was, of course, the first experience for them, so they had a very good time with school kids!
