Hello, I am Yoshi from NILS Japanese language school. We are having some guidance classes for new October students. They came from different countries, so they have lots of things to learn about living in Japan. Some are common in the world, but some are not. Moreover, each country has different customs and traditions, so we have some classes to tell them how to live in Japan without any problems and troubles.
1. Garbage: We seperate garbages into burnable, non-burnable, plastic bottles, bottles, cans, etc. It is complicated for the students, but once they fail to seperate, no one pick up the garbage.
2. Traffic rules: This is one of the most important rule they must understand well. It is very simple, but it is very important to avoid traffic accidents. Especially, our students usually use bicycles to go around the city and they have to be careful not to have an accident with cars and pedestrians.
3. Noise: It is common in Japan to be quiet after 9:00 pm at night. However, because of the time differences between Japan and their countries, they sometimes talk with their family on the phone or on skype very late at night. This may cause troubles with their neighbors. We tell them what to be careful in their daily life.
4. Part time job: They are allowed to work part time with a work permit issued by the Immigration Bureau. However, they first pass the test given by the school to check their basic language skills. Moreover, they are allowed to work for not exceeding 28 hours a week. They first must understand the law regarding part time job. This is also to prevent them from troubles during their stay in Japan.
We hope all of our students will understand the rules and regulations in Japan, and they will avoid any troubles during their stay. This rules will definitely help them spend great time in Japan if they keep those rules.
