Going on to the next stage of education

Most of the NILS students go on to colleges/universities/vocational schools after completing their 1-2 years of language study here.  There are lots of schools, but it is very important for them to choose good schools.

Most of the colleges and universities require applicants take the EJU.  Score of the Japanese language is the most important, of course.  Many of the lectures at colleges and universities are given in Japanese, so students can handle the Japanese language very well, especially kanji.

On the other hand, vocational schools don’t require EJU, but applicants are required to reach the JLPT N2 level.  Recently, however, many students from non-kanji countries have been increasing, so many vocational schools give only interviews on the exam day.  It is easy for applicants to pass the exam, but we cannot tell such schools are really good schools.

Fortunately, NILS students have some opportunities to talk directly with the teachers from colleges/universities/vocational schools to find out what those schools are like.  We will try to give our students better advice to choose schools, but we believe students themselves must think about their future.
