My students are scheduled to graduate this March.
「木蓮」 lily magnolia
Magnolias” are rare in Vietnam, and she is very excited to see them in Japan this spring. Beautiful flowers that makes you feel that spring has come. By then, though, everyone will have already graduated.
「おにぎり」 rice balls
“Onigiri” is convenient and has a cute shape.
「侍」 samurai
One group likes “Samurai” for spiritual reasons……
「ひまわり」sunflower
And other group likes “Sunflower”because the flower faces the sun cheerfully.
They all had various reasons.
Everyone seemed to be having a lot of fun thinking of a researching on their phones, and laughing at the ideas. Some teams were even rehearsing already. That’s way too early! You’ve got 14 more prep sessions to go, so do some more research on the content! I know I said “14 more times,” but it will all be over in a blink of an eye. I wish I could see everyone like this a little more. I wish everyone fond memories before graduation.

私のクラスは今年の3月卒業予定です。
NILSでは卒業前の集大成、「卒業発表会」があります。
今年のテーマは日本語のプレゼンテーションです。
今まで勉強した日本語の実力で、チームのメンバーと一緒に調査したことを発表します。その準備が今週から始まりました。今日は2回目、チームでテーマについて具体的な内容を決めて、何を調べたらいいか相談します。
チームの名前を紹介します。
それぞれ自分たちが好きな日本語を選んだようです。
「木蓮（もくれん）」「おにぎり」「侍（さむらい）」「ひまわり」
「木蓮」はベトナムでは珍しいので、今年の春、日本できっと見たいと思っているそうです。春が来た、と感じられる美しい花ですね。そのときは、もうみんな卒業していますけどね。
「おにぎり」は便利で形がかわいい、「侍」はその精神が好き、「ひまわり」はチームみんなで太陽に向かって明るくいこう！と、みんないろいろな理由がありました。
みんな今まで勉強してきたことの中からテーマを考えて、スマホで調べたり、アイディアを出して笑ったりしている姿はとても楽しそうでした。もうリハーサルまでしているチームもありました。早すぎです！準備はあと14回あるんだから、もっと内容をしっかり調べてね！「あと14回」とは言っても、あっという間。もう少し、みんなのこんな様子を見ていたいなあ。卒業前のみんなのいい思い出ができますように。
