It is a pre-test organized by our school for Japanese Language Proficiency Test- JLPT.
Don’t worry, you do not need to get a high score on this pre-test, because it is a trial and a challenge to know your current skill.
You can find what you need to learn at the moment and how many skills you have by this mock exam. So, let’s get ready enough for the real exam beforehand.
Do you know any benefits after you pass the JLPT examination?
JLPT is a language certificate and the score is based on international criteria and gives you a standardized assessment of your Japanese language skill.
Also, JLPT certificate adds credibility to your Japanese language skill and you can show it to your future potential employers as an official license.

How do NILS students feel after taking JLPT challenge mock exam?
Of course, NILS held the JLPT challenge mock exam on Fri, 26th May to be ready for the real JLPT coming in July. Students took the exam in each room separated by their levels. Though they seemed to feel like being in the real exam in a serious mood, they finished successfully.
I asked how they felt after taking the exam to students.
All the students in my class took N4 but they arrived in Japan 6 months later than the other students, so they have not completed all of the MINNANO NIHONGO textbook but only up to its 25th section.
Almost all the students answered ‘’Sensei, it was difficult. I could not solve them.’’
Of course, I know they couldn’t solve all of them because they have not completed all of the 50 sections of the textbook.
However, one student said ‘’ I did all Kanjis!’’
The student wrote Kanjis on the exam question sheet and showed it to me. Yes, all Kanjis are perfect, so I asked why.
‘’I can study Kanjis at home by myself without any lectures.’’
Surely enough, you cannot get scores only by learning but by memorizing Kanjis. ‘’Memorizing is everything for getting scores with Kanji’’ Memorizing Kanjis might be an easy way to get scores for whom knows this.
Now the day is coming, there’s only one month left before the real JLPT examination.
We are now reviewing what students couldn’t get through at the May pre-exam.
I wish their best effort to study not only in classes but also at home, too. We support all of them to succeed in passing the exam for the rest of the remaining time.
JLPTチャレンジ模試ってごぞんじですか？
JLPTの本番に備えて学校内で実施するテストです。「チャレンジ」なんですから、この試験でよい点が取れなくても大丈夫。
チャレンジ模試で今の自分の実力を知ることができ、理解が足りていないところがわかります。間違ったところを復習して本番でよい点が取れるように備えます。
JLPTに合格したらどんなメリットがあるか知っていますか？

NILSでもJLPTの本番に向けてチャレンジ模試を！学生の反応は？
さて、NILSでも７月のJLPTのためのチャレンジ模試を５月２６日（金）に行いました。
NILS AnnexではN2・N3・N4のチャレンジ模試を行いました。
学生はそれぞれ自分が受けるレベルの教室に分かれてテストを受けました。学生たちは本番同様、緊張感を持って受けていましたが、みんな問題なく無事に終えることができました。
次の日、私のクラスの学生にテストの感想を聞いてみました。
私のクラスの学生は全員N4を受けるのですが、来日時期が他のクラスの学生より半年ほど遅かったため、まだ「みんなの日本語」２５課までしか勉強していません。
ほとんどの学生は、
「先生、とても難しかったです。全然わかりませんでした。」
と言っていました。
まだ５０課ある中の半分しか勉強していませんから当然です。
ですが一人の学生が、
「先生！漢字は全部できました！」
と言ってきました。
問題用紙に答えを書いていたので見せてもらったら、本当に漢字のところは満点でした。
どうしてわかったのか聞いてみたところ、
「漢字は自分でも勉強できるので、まだ習っていないところも家で勉強していました。」
と返ってきました。
確かに漢字は暗記勝負なところがあります。この学生は「漢字は覚えれば点数が取れる」ということがわかっていて、自宅でもしっかり勉強していたようです。さすがですね。
テスト本番まであと１か月を切りました。
５月のテストで分からなかったところ、間違ったところを復習しています。
授業の時だけでなく家でもしっかり勉強して、試験を頑張ってもらいたいです。みんなが合格するように残りの時間、生徒の学習のサポートをします！
