“Today, the Christmas party was so great. The singing was fun, and the games were great. It was copetitive, but friendly. The best part was when Miyazaki-sensei dressed as Santa!!” —John-Taylor Karshis, from the U.S.

“I was not sure at first if I could communicate with foreign students learning Japanese at NILS, but we could easily get along with them very soon because they were so friendly to us while playing games. We made our original Christmas tree on the white board drawing lots of pictures and putting some kamikiri on it.
I have never imagined that I have a friend from the world, so I was very happy to join the party. I am really looking forward to joining the party next year too.” —Nozomi Shibata, Hitotsuba High School

“It was my first time to join the party at NILS where many students from the world are learning Japanese. I was so excited to meet foreigners.
I was in the team of Class S2 with Nepali students. We enjoyed various games and the party with them. We became good friends at the end of the party, and I wanted to stay there for more while. Their Japanese was very good, so I could easily communicate with them in Japanese though I didn’t speak English well.
Thank you very much for offering a very good opportunity to join the party.” —Manami Tabuchi, Hitotsuba High School
