On September 30th, NILS held its annual “Autumn Field Trip.” This year, we once again visited the theme park “Greenland” in Kumamoto Prefecture. Although it’s in the neighboring prefecture, we used a charter bus, making it less than an hour from NILS Ogori Main Campus and about an hour and a half from the Annex. Today, I’ll introduce how to enjoy Greenland and share the students’ experiences from three perspectives.
1. Thrill Rides
First and foremost, the attractions! Greenland is famous for its many thrill rides. Among them, the terrifying “NIO” is especially notorious. Your feet dangle as the ride flips you upside down multiple times. (Just imagining it is scary…)
Another staple attraction, the “Dinosaur Coaster,” remains consistently popular. The ride swings widely from side to side, making you feel like you might be thrown off your seat. You can never let your guard down until the ride is over! Its impressive appearance also makes it a big hit among students! (The photo shows a long line of NILS students waiting for their turn.)
2. Overflowing Photo Spots
The park is filled with bright, cheerful colors, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Surrounded by abundant greenery and majestic nature, it’s the perfect place to take stunning photos!
←Here’s an actual photo taken by one of our students. (A great expression with the beautiful nature as the backdrop👍) The park also has an observation deck, offering a panoramic view of the entire theme park. This is one of the highlights of this facility.
3. Enjoying the Food
This amusement park has 22 restaurants and takeout stands. When you’re tired from all the fun, you can enjoy a variety of meals to suit your mood! While walking around the park, I saw many students indulging in the park’s gourmet offerings.
There are plenty of Japanese dishes like takoyaki and yakisoba, which excited the students to no end!
Did the atmosphere of the NILS Autumn Field Trip come across to all of you readers? Once you enroll at NILS, not only the field trips but also a variety of fun events are waiting for you!
