Graduation ー卒業ー

Hello, I am Yoshi from NILS Japanese language school. Today was a NILS graduation day! We have a graduation ceremony in this time of the year in Japan. On this very special day, we Japanese people usually have a quite fromal ceremony. Everybody wears formal clothes, no chatting during the event, formal greetings, etc. NILS graduation ceremoney is not the exception. So our students lookd a bit nervous and very quiet. We had some guests from the community such as members of the Ogori International Association. They all congratulated our students.
We had a farewell party at a hotel after the ceremony. This one is an informal event so that they can enjoy singing, playing, dancing, and of course, eating and drinking (not alcohol)! Some students from China and Nepal sang some songs in their languages. Later on, every graduating studnet made a short speech. They all said, “Thank you, teachers.” We were all very happy to hear that.
Graduation is not a goal, but a new beginning for our students. Most of them go on to colleges, universities, and vocatinal schools. We hope that every one of them will have a wonderful and prosperous future.
