Hanami Season

Hello, I am Yoshi from NILS Japanese language school. It’s been getting warmer and warmer these days, and cherry blossoms started blooming. Speaking of cherry blossoms, yes, hanami season!
In Japan, cherry trees are in full bloom from late March to early April. Cherry blossom viewing or hanami 花見 is like an outdoor party under the cherry blossoms. People spread out a mat under the trees and enjoy drinking and eating while appreciating the beauty of the flowers. Cherry blossom viewing has been a favorite annual event for the Japanese since the 9th century. The popular viewing spots are crowded with people who appreciate blossoms during blossom season throughout the country.
The students learning Japanese language in our short term programs will enjoy hanami next week as a school activity.
