Today, we would like to introduce one of the sightseeing spots around NILS Ogori Campus: Shogun Wisteria of Fukudo.
Shogun Wisteria of Fukudo is prefectually protected species. You can see this tree inside Onakatomi Shrine in Fukudo, Ogori. The tree is believed to be 600 years old. Legend says that injured Shogun Kanenaga Shinno recovered after praying at this shrine and dedicated the tree for gratitude in the14th century. The wisteria treillis extend 204 square meters and are usually bloom between late April and early May.
